This week, we celebrate our very first anniversary at Pro Publico, and we couldn’t think of a better way to mark the occasion than with a new brand identity and a brand-new website.
Over the past year, we’ve learned one thing above all: when civil society thrives, democracy thrives. But in today’s climate of shrinking civic space and funding cuts, NGOs and grassroots initiatives face growing obstacles. That’s why pro bono support has never been more vital.
At Pro Publico, we connect civil society organisations with law firms and consultancies offering their expertise free of charge, pro bono publico, in recognition of the societal value of their work. we’ve already facilitated 189 matches, mobilised more than 2,000 hours of collaboration, and generated over €1.9 million worth of support.
Why the rebrand?
We wanted a visual identity that reflects who we are: connected, trustworthy, modern, and rooted in European civic values. The new brand gives Pro Publico a clearer, stronger voice and a look that matches the impact we’ve had so far. More here!
What’s new on the website?
Our redesigned site is built for both NGOs and providers:
- For Civil Society: a simple, clear way to request support.
- For Providers: A dedicated area for law firms and consultancies, with a forthcoming restricted membership section to access all assistance requests
- Our Impact: real stories, numbers, and testimonials that show how pro bono support makes a difference.
- Impact Stories Hub: success stories colour-coded by theme
- Blog & Newsletter: fresh ways to stay connected, share ideas, and keep civic space alive.
And most importantly, it’s easier than ever to submit a case, join as a provider, subscribe to our newsletter, or browse and share our content.
What’s next?
One year on, our mission is clearer than ever: to ensure every good idea in the public interest has the professional support it needs to become change.
And on 2 October at the Pro Bono Roundtable we’ll celebrate this journey together with partners, friends, and allies.
